Studies and Stages

PROFESSIONAL STUDIES AND TRAINING:

1974: Free dance with  Manuela De Lorenzi.

1975/1980: Free dance with  Monica Pacchin.

1980: M. Graham technique with  Ymme Dahlberg.

1980:Matt Mattox technique with Dagmar Hoorn.

1981:Indian dance with Scheela Ray.

1981: Ballet with Arnaldo Angelini and  Jacques Beltrame.

1983: Matt Mattox technique with Nicola Laudati and Sisina Augusta, (during 1983 Maria Carbognin taught dance at the “ Monica Pacchin Dance Studio” ).

1984: Matt Mattox technique again with Sisina Augusta; dynamic jazz with Dick O’Swanborn; Jazz Luigi’s technique with  Diana Folio; ballet with  Lorna Wilkinson and Bryan Poer in Yugoslavia. Contemporary dance with Flora Cushman in Belgium.

1985: Back in Italy – jazz art with  Matt Mattox; dynamic jazz and tap dance with  Dick O’Swanborn.

In the meantime Maria began to study Solfège music theory with the teacher Luigi Sella, and she learnt the piano with Paolo Birro in order to expand her knowledge of music.

1986: Ballet with  Maria Berica Dalla Vecchia; tap dance with  L. Vasconcellos; contemporary dance with Thierry Parmantier. During 1986 Maria returned to  Milan where she met Brian and Garrison.

1987: Modern-jazz with Brian and Garrison; afro-jazz with  Byron Burnside.

1987/’88: Modern-jazz with Brian and Garrison; jazz with Andre De La Roche; ballet with David Sutherland.

1988: Maria moved to New York (USA) and studied at the “David Howard centre” with David Howard for ballet and Michael Owens for jazz dance. She also studied jazz dance with Luigi at “Luigi’s jazz centre.” At “Steps” she studied jazz dance with Daniel Tinazzi, Patricia Wilcox and Joe Lanteri, and theatre jazz with Don Johansons (choreographer for the musical CATS).

1989: Maria moved back to Italy and studied jazz dance with Bruno Agati, contemporary dance with J.Marc Boitiere and modern-jazz again with Brian and Garrison.

1991: Modern-jazz with Kirk Offerle (TV choreographer- Los Angeles ).

1992: Jazz dance (free style) again with Daniel Tinazzi in Italy.

1993: Ballet with P. Nardelli.

1993/’96: Jazz dance (free style) with Daniel Tinazzi.

1999: Maria moved to London and studied with Homero for dance shows.

2002: During 2002, Maria participated in various placements with: Brian (choreographer for TV and musicals), Roberto Croce (TV choreographer), Evelyn Hanack (TV choreographer), Raffaele Paganini (lead dancer of “Opera di Roma” and international dancer for TV and musicals), Franco Miseria (producer, TV director and choreographer), Adriana Borgonovo (TV director  and journalist), Vittoria Ottolenghi (dance critic), Rosa Pol (TV producer) and Giuseppe Tramontano (stylist and fashion expert).

From 2002 to 2007: Every Summer she updates her training at the Opus Ballet in Florence, working with the following teachers: Daniel Tinazzi, Rosanna Brocanello, Christopher Huggins and Patricia Wilcox.

2008: For some years she has been studying and perfecting her Pilates techniques with Giuseppe Orizzonte, at the same time as deepening her knowledge of the human anatomy and facial massage.

2010: Winter season 2010/2011 she participated to several episodes of the TV SHOW on CHANEL N.5 “MEN and WOMEN” conducted by Maria De Filippi.

2012: She follow a stage about the “Cunnigham technique” with Cheryl Therrien. In March, the Expos of Udine invite her to perform PILATES lessons during the FSB SHOW (Fitness, Sport, Wellness Expo). In the mean time she is constantly improving her PILATES knowledge’s by following teachers as: Angelica Stella, Monica, Monica Sfalanga (Matwork Pilates), Kyria Sabin (Fletcher Pilates), Cinzia Galletto, Maximilian Stohr, Marco Batti (Gyrotonic Expansion System), Jolita Trahan (Pilates Int.Network), Cinzia Cieri and Elena Fioravanti. She get interested to the method “Body Code” by following conferences and by studying with Pino Carbone and his team.
